Possible Severe Stroms This Afternoon

Widespread showers this morning are now on their way out to sea.
This afternoon get set for another round, but this time the storms could turn severe. So far this August we've only seen around a quarter of an inch of rain, so these showers are much needed. Also at this point in August we are the third hottest on record. So a little rain to hold down the air temperture and fill up the reservoirs will help out. If you get caught in a severe storm just go inside and wait it out.

Also just to keep you updated... there is NOTHING going on in the tropics. We are now heading into prime time hurricane season so this could change, but for now all is calm.

Just a few lines to say I really like the Pix Morning news, even though you are nowhere near my home. Check out a map of the Upper Peninsula of MI and look for Sault Ste. Marie (Soo Saint Marie) and i am about 6 miles sw of there. I like news and weather and keeping up with whats happening in another part of the country. You are getting the weather now that we probably had this past weekend. Very humid, too humid for some. We also watch the 10 oclock news too - i am a news nut. I also watch my locals as well.

Why is WPIX and you news readers allowing warped larry mendte to relentlessly try to trash our president, Mr. Obama ????... His commentary reflects terribly on the biased and skewed discourse of WPIX 11.... Continue crapping on our president and you might soon see protestors outside of your studios !!!!.... NYC is 80% DEMOCRATS, and you people at WPIX are letting 1 republican fanatic destroy your rating and respect !!!!... Go to mendte's blog and look at the responses to his recent Obama rant...
