Maybe The Only Time It’s Cool To Go To A Net Game This Year…
…would be tonight, because regardless of the ticket you bought, you were sitting at or damn near courtside.
Because of our nasty winter storm only 1,016 people showed up at Izod Center for the Nets’ game against the Bucks.
Of course everyone who came was invited to move down as close as possible; and did they ever!
As you can see from the above screen grab from tonight’s game on YES, the worst you would have done tonight was probably four or five rows back.
For a high school game those are considered good seats, let alone an (alleged) NBA game.
If you’ve ever been fortunate enough to sit close at an NBA game, you know it’s probably the best sport to see from the front row.
You hear and see all kinds of things even the on-court microphones don’t pick up during the game broadcasts. No doubt that was a treat tonight for people who thought they were going to be sitting in the 300s.
And while the Nets are dreadful, kudos to their brass who recognize that fannys in the seats are going to be hard to come by the rest of this season. During the broadcast they mentioned that anyone who a ticket tonight – whether they came to the game or not – could redeem it for a free ticket to another (selected) game.
So a couple of pretty nice gestures by the Nets tonight for their bravest and most loyal fans.
It’s the least they can do during this awful season.

Makes you feel like a celebrity for a night.
This was a nice gesture by the New York/New Jersey/Newark/Brookly Nets.
