The Mets, coming off a most disappointing 2009, can go nowhere but up (we hope.) They are holding a mini camp in advance of their normal spring training. Oliver Perez and Johan Santana are among the players there. Hopefully, Santana takes his fellow lefty Perez under his wing and gives him some tips. It would help Santana and the Mets immensely if Perez could show himself to be the pitcher he was in 2007 when he won 15 games in his first full season in Flushing. 2009 was a lost season for Perez, battling injuries and ineffectiveness. He had off season surgery on his right knee and is optimistic about his return. Listen in.

As I write this, I am listening to a live interview with Johan Santana on the Benogno & Roberts Show on WFAN.
I think the starting rotation is going to surprise many.
I expect a usual stellar season from Johan.
Mike Pelfrey should return to his 2008 form.
Oliver Perez will provide more consistency and have a very good season.
John Main is healthy.
We embark on a great season for the New York Mets this week in the three day mini-camp in Port St. Lucie.
