How Many For Kobe Tonight At The Garden?

Enough Jets for a minute: Kobe comes to the Garden tonight for his first visit since raining 61 on the Knicks’ heads last season.

The question for Knicks (and Kobe) fans: how many does Bryant go off for tonight?

There’s no doubting that when he wants to turn it on, he can score prodigiously. 81 against the Raptors a few years ago and the aforementioned 61 at MSG last February.

Will tonight be one of those nights? Maybe, maybe not.

The Lakers need a win after losing to LeBron and the Cavs last night, and that might force Kobe to play more unselfishly.

Or he could decide to shoot every time he touches the ball.

Either way, it should be entertaining.

How many do you think he scores?

(I say 35).

Question for you Matt:

As you pointed out, Kobe Bryant scored 61 at the Garden last season. At times, especially in the second half, much of the crowd was cheering him and chanting his name.
Was this an embarrasment for New York Sports Fans? Even that alleged Super Knick Fan Spike Lee was carrying on. I guess he was doing a documentary on him, so he explains that is why he reacted in such a manner.
I realize you are a Yankees/Giants fan. It may follow then that you are a fan of Guitar Jimmy Dolan's two teams, the Knicks and Rangers.
Are there that many Lakers fans in the Metro Area? If not, should Knicks fans be applauding Kobe Bryant. Knicks fans booed Reggie Miller. Just wondering what you thought of this display last year.

In theory, i hated to see it. But, if i put myself in their shoes, i'd probably be cheering too for the simple reason that it's awesome to see something like that in person.

I guess it's the say way you'd cheer an opposing pitcher who is throwing a no-hitter/perfect game against your team.

Sitting on my couch, i was appaled. But looking at it from a "I WAS THERE" perspective, i can understand why they acted that way.

Hell, if it served any purpose, it's that maybe Kobe felt loved here and would consider coming to NY.....or recommending it to other potential free agents.

I would rather get the Jets score right on Sunday, because I predict the Jets will win. But I will take Kobe and 27 points. Lately this blind squirrel has found about three nuts. Picked the Jets by 20-14 over Cincinnati (24-14 final). Picked the Jets 27-24 over San Diego (17-14 final).
Now for Kobe. I could never cheer him, even if I was at the Garden live. Probably has to do with my dislike for him and his team, the Hollywood Fakers. I had some friends tweet me from the Garden tonight ticked because there were so many Lakers fans in the house last night.
I think the Isiah Thomas era has harmed this franchise on so many levels. Once a big Knicks fan, I am now so apathetic about the team. If it wasn't for Danillo Galinari, I probably would never watch a Knicks game.
Wonder if general apathy has engulfed the Garden and fans now come to watch the opposing stars as much as the hometown Knicks.
We know that has always been the case with the 3-28 New Jersey Nets.
