Mr. Fix It: Helping The Knicks and Giants With One Brilliant Idea
Mr. Fix It Here:
Mike D’Antoni created a mini-stir yesterday when he said he would continue to bench Nate Robinson….and then said he’d play Satan himself if he’d help the Knicks win.
Therefore by my math, as far as D’Antoni is concerned, Satan > Nate. (That’s the sign for ‘greater than’, right?)
Anyway, with Nate still inexplicably in “Chateau Bow-Wow” (trademark my boss Bobby), I’ve come up with a clever solution to get Krypto-Nate some playing time; just now how he might think.
Follow me here.
Today the Giants announced CB Aaron Ross re-injured his already tender hammy and probably won’t play Monday night against the Redskins – crippling an already battered Big Blue secondary.
Nate Robinson played defensive back at the University of Washington. See where I’m going with this?
There’s a perfectly good (and well-rested) cornerback riding the pine across the river!!
Can the Knicks and Giants work out some kind of deal so that someone in the town gets some use out of Nate’s considerable athletic ability?
Maybe in exchange for Nate’s services the Giants can outfit the front row of fans at the Garden with helmets for all those bricks the Knicks rain from downtown.
Or possibly D-Coordinator Bill Sheridan can come over to the Garden and help Mike D’Antoni fix the Knicks’ defensive woes.
On second thought, scratch that last idea.
Just find a way to get Nate off the bench and back thrilling fans.
