The Laundry List of Mets Injuries
Johan Santana is missing his next start with an elbow injury and Jeff Francoeur is out with a hurt thumb; I just hope the Mets can get through the rest of the season without another mishap. People have been talking about the team being jinxed or unlucky and if you look at the list we compiled below, you sort of "gotta believe".

METS ON THE D-L IN 2009
4-5 Billy Wagner (Elbow)
4-5 Tim Redding (Shoulder)
4-5 Angel Pagan (Elbow)
4-17 Brian Schneider (Back)
5-7 Oliver Perez (Knee)
5-16 Carlos Delgado (Hip)
5-18 Alex Cora (Thumb)
5-26 Jose Reyes (Calf)
5-26 Ryan Church (Leg)
6-3 Ramon Martinez (Finger)
6-5 JJ Putz (Elbow)
6-12 John Maine (Shoulder)
6-22 Carlos Beltran (Knee)
7-9 Fernando Martinez (Knee)
7-20 Fernando Nieve (Leg)
7-25 Gary Sheffield (Leg)
8-6 Jon Niese (Leg)
8-17 David Wright (Head)
Still it's nice to see that the Mets don't just roll over and die. I like seeing Daniel Murphy developing into a first baseman; I love the addition of Francoeur to the team and his "tell it like it is" attitude. Both of these young guys are expected to be part of the Mets' future and rightfully so. Even in the Phillies series, the team showed some grit! When Ollie Perez gives you 2/3 of an inning and you are down 6-0 when he comes out of the game, you think, game over....NOT SO, say these resilient Mets. The Mets comeback was tainted by a ridiculous unassisted triple play but showed they can fight and try to make things happen. This attitude keeps me watching with the understanding that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Minor arthroscopic surgery on his elbow. Johan Sanatana is out for the season. Should be back for spring training. Add Johan to the list.
