Changes at Citi Field are all METS, METS, METS

Better late than never I say! The Mets have added some new details to their new stadium that include what?...NO?...actual Mets historical memories! The Mets heard the boos from fans all season long. They said they were listening and that they would take action. They stayed true to their word, installing photographic images of famous Mets and big moments in team history. There are also two new HD video boards in Right Field and the Promenade level so fans can easily follow live action. Here are several of the pictures and the description of where to find them at Citi Field:

"...Darryl Strawberry, Keith Hernandez and Dwight Gooden cover the side of the Empire Suites by section 106 in the Right Field corner on the Field Level. Gil Hodges, Tom Seaver and Jerry Koosman jumping into the arms of Jerry Grote celebrating the 1969 World Series championship cover the other end of the Empire Suite Level on the third base side near section 126 on the Field Level. Images of Mike Piazza and Casey Stengel will go up in Left Field during the current homestand.

On the Promenade Level going from Left Field to Right Field are images of the 1986 world championship team; Al Leiter, John Franco and Edgardo Alfonso; Rusty Staub, Tommie Agee and Tug McGraw; Carlos Beltran, Jose Reyes, David Wright and Johan Santana; and Gary Carter, Mookie Wilson and Lenny Dykstra.

The Mets will announce plans for additional recognition of club history in the weeks ahead." (Mets press release 8/14/09)

Long overdue!
I swear going into Citi Field felt like I was going to a dodgers game because there was little to nothing that had anything to do with the Mets history.

I can't wait to see the long over due changes.

I was amused to read David "Tier Pricing" Howard's comments related to this issue. Management did not understand their fan base and limited the Mets appeal to Citi Field. Now they get it? Only after the media and fan pressure shamed them into making this the home of the New York Mets and not the home of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
