The Mets season has taken another turn for the worse but I must admit I'm not surprised. Johan Santana is done for the year. He needs surgery to remove bone chips from his elbow. I guess the silver lining for Mets fans is that the injury is not more serious. My question is... Who's next? I don't know if there has been anyone on the Mets roster who hasn't been hurt at some time this season. I'd really have to research that. I guess Jerry Manuel, but he doesn't play. Anyway, here's Johan's press conference: Listen in!

The Mets made a prudent decision in shutting down Johan Sanatana. He will have the elbow surgery and should be ready to go in spring training. The Mets making a prudent decision is the real story. The way they have handled many injuries this year has resulted in much discussion.
