Yankees: Bring Back Phil Hughes
I protested the moves that brought Chien Ming Wang to the rotation and Phil Hughes to the bullpen. Wang is solid and I cannot deny his contribution to the Yankees since his arrival to the team...2006 and 2007 both 19 win seasons (awesome!) However, injuries have plagued Wang last season and this year (so far). I have always thought the Yanks were rushing him back...rushing him when they had Phil Hughes finally coming into his own. So when Hughes is finally pitching decently, we move the young starter to the bullpen (he has not even been able to continue his starting pitcher routine).

I think Wang's last two starts show he is not ready. Yankees, please bring Phil Hughes back to the rotation and don't let him sit in the 'pen much longer. He is starting to peak and needs the time and the starts to continue to do so. If you need stats to help with the process, here they are:
Wang (last two starts):
Tonight- 2 2/3 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO
4 2/3 IP, 7 H, 5 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
Hughes :
Tonight- 3 2/3 I, 2 H, 2ER (a two run homerun by Kevin Youkilis), 2 BB, 5 SO
Last Two Starts-
(5/31) 5 IP, 5H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO
(5/25) 8 IP, 3H, 0 ER, 1 BB, 6 SO

Baseball is a meritocracy. Phil Hughes has pitched better than Chien Ming Wang.
The New York Yankees need to get Wang right. Whether they do it in the Major Leagues out of the bullpen, or in the Minor Leagues, I do not think Chien Ming Wang should make another start for the Yankees. Phil Hughes should be returned to the starting rotation for the simple fact that he has pitched better.
