NY Mets: "Microcosm of Ugliness"
I wish I could take credit for this statement but it was Gary Cohen on tonight's SNY broadcast of the Mets/Brewers game. Boy it's true! I was oh so hopeful with the David Wright two-run homerun, then things came crashing down. Okay, let's see Johan Santana has 4 earned runs by the 5th inning...Fernando Martinez in center field and got burned again, Dan Warthen gets thrown out of the game (arguing balls and strikes)...where was the Manager? You're pitching coach doing the fighting?! Then there were the faces resting on the dugout rail tonight as if the season is over.

Does it have to be? Why do I feel like the only one who thinks the Mets can turn things around? It won't be easy! Even with the expected return of Carlos Beltran and Jose Reyes, the Mets need something. I want a trade and am willing to give up some young guys for it. There is a different perspective though: start from scratch. Get rid of everyone even a David Wright (NOT happening) or a Johan Santana and rebuild the team? Are we there...Really?! Thoughts...

Don't Stop Believin'
Lolita and James on the crusade to "Believe" in the New York Metropolitans in 2009. It is frustrating, but the calendar turns to July today and so do the fortunes of our hometown heroes.
Unlike you, I am not willing to trade the young players, because I am not convinced that one or even two bats might improve the offensive production. The Mets have the talent on the field, if they play "crisp, clean" baseball. That was not evident last night, but that all changes this afternoon at Miller Park in Milwaukee. I feel a winning streak Brewing!!!

Don't Stop Believin'
Just a small town girl
Living in a lonely world
She took the midnight train going anywhere
Just a city boy
Born and raised in South Detroit
He took the midnight train going anywhere
A singer in a smoky room
A smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on
Strangers, waiting, up and down the boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
Streetlight people, living just to find emotion
Hiding somewhere in the night
Working hard to get my fill
Everybody wants a thrill
Paying anything to roll the dice
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were born to sing the blues
Oh the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on
Don't stop believing
Hold on to that feeling
Streetlight people
Ya' Gotta Believe"

Lolita, make sure Bobby has his Tug McGraw Number 45 Jersey on. The traditional Home Pinstriped or Road Grey Jersey will do. It will give him and everyone in the Newsroom renewed hope for this afternoon's game in Milwaukee.
Lets Go Mets!!!!!
