Yankees Alex Rodriguez: Boo if you want, I don't care

That's what I feel was going through Alex Rodriguez's mind this afternoon after receiving a chorus of boos at Rangers Ballpark. He responds by being perfect: 5 for 5 with 4 RBI and raised his BA for .189 to .259. That's a 72% jump, in ONE day!

Can you really blame the Texas fans, though? They supported ARod even when he was sent away to the Yankees (well maybe not ALL fans, but most, I would think said, hey he was good here and gave us some excitement). Then they discover he was not "clean" and "pure". Rodriguez admitted he took performance enhancing drugs while, and only while, with the Rangers from 2001-2003.

I would feel "cheated" and deceived. If I was a Rangers fan, I would be saying "sure, he gave me an AL MVP title and some pretty good seasons, okay well not really...they were all three losing seasons...but we liked having you... until now." I want to believe that everyone can redeem his- or herself and can turn things around to do the right thing. It seems this is what ARod is doing, but I would think Ranger fans would be the last to forgive and forget. I don't blame them. I would be mad that Rodriguez did so well today and to be honest... critical, almost accusatory, thinking "he is still not all clean". As just a simple baseball fan, however, I do like what I see from Rodriguez-no drama, no mental hangups (right now). I love what I see from the Yankees. Once again, they have what you have come to expect from the Yanks, no matter the players; they are never done until that last out...

Baseball fans across the board feel "cheated" and deceived. Look at all the New York baseball players that were reported to have taken PED. Many of the players in the Yankee dynasty teams were noted in the Mitchel Report. I do not feel Yankee fans feel cheated. We can never seem to put this behind us. All the negativity and deceipt.
