Yankees Tour the White House...WHY? WHAT?

10:10PM | April 7, 2009 | posted by Lolita Lopez | comments: 3

So I come across an AP report late tonight about a tour some Yankees players ,coaches and other personnel received today on their day off. (Yanks play the Orioles 7PM Wednesday) Joba was there as was Xavier Nady, Phil Coke, Edwar Ramirez and Cody Ransom. Okay... no offense...okay, maybe some a little... but what have these guys done to deserve a tour of the White House?? I guess its always "who you know" and in this case, someone knows Former White House press secretary Ari Fleischer pretty well. (He put together the tour.) Seriously... they are not World Champions or winners of anything!! Even my good friend, a die hard Yankees fan, is fuming over this news.

Get to a playoff, get a WS ring... and then, you can go to the White House. Coke, Ransom, Nady...how about some highlights from the field before getting the honor to visit the home of our Nation's President and his family. I mean, there are men and women, doing incredible things all across this country and overseas (do I have to mention our servicemen and women? I would think that was a given) and THEY don't get tours of the White House. Yanks, have some respect...who's with me?

Lolita, tell us what you really feel...lol. Strong opinion, one I concur with. It is certanly puzzling as to why Xavier Nady, Phil Coke, Edwar Ramirez, Cody Ransom and Joba Chamberlain, among others visited the White House on April 7. 2009. Win something before you visit the White House. It is not always "what you have done or not done," but who you know.

Your sportscasts are a joke! You're a joke! You shouldn't be a newscater. I have watched channel 11 news for over 20 years. Sieeing you makes me turn it off.

Your ridiculous sports puns make me puke. Just cover the damn game already.

This newscast live from City field a joke. I guess Tribune comapny forgot what journalism really is. OBJECTIVE REPORTING!!!!

Something you know nothing about. It is a shame that I have probably watched my lst porgram ever on channel 11, largely because you.

Wow! at 10:11 p.m. Marry Murphy actually reports on "the other news of the day."

What a disgrace of a station.
