Bettman, NHL Drop The Ball-Er, Puck Again

If you've red our blog since its inception over a year ago, you know that Gary Bettman is the WORST commissioner of the four major sports-YES, worse than Bud Selig. Time to bash Clueless Gary for his latest foolish faux pas.
Seems that Bettman and the people at Versus, that sports broadcasting powerhouse, have two
Game 7''s going on at essentially THE SAME TIME. The Rangers and Capitals start at 7. The Devils and Hurricanes at the Rock in Newark drop the puck a little after 7:30.
Here is hockey, CRAVING TV ratings, with two good series-and the league has these games IN THE SAME MEDIA MARKET going on OPPOSITE each other? Think MLB would allow the Mets and Yankees to do that? How 'bout the NBA with Knick and Nets-of course the hoops locals have to make the playoffs one day for that to happen. You know darn well the money/image conscious NFL would have the Giants and Jets set in different time zones, on different days, whatever. But Bettman and the NHL? They demonstrate-again- why they are lapped by the other sports when it comes to interest and exposure. What do you expect from Bettman, a non hockey fan who let an entire season be lost for the sake of a salary cap? My two year old niece would do a better job running the NHL.

"Worse than Bud Selig" Could that be possible.
Anyway, hockey season isn't over? As an Islanders fan, I just assumed the season ends the first week of April every year.
You do make a good point. The small percentage of the metro area that watches hockey should be allowed to view each game. The Devils ratings are so low, maybe it would not be missed.
It's sad because the two series have been a lot of fun to watch! Bobby knows I am not the world's #1 hockey fan; in fact, hockey came into my life when I first saw a game live in COLLEGE! (the Beanpot tourney with Harvard, BC, BU and Northeastern at the Boston Garden) Bettman just has no clue how to market the game. I am jazzed to see these teams go at it and now have to split time to do so. Just dumb! I wonder if the Canadiens would let this happen. The day probably stops there...here's to switching channels!
