The Mad Backer: Bart Scott

The Jets have been busy building up their defense. They traded for Eagles cornerback Lito Sheppard, sending 2 draft picks back to Philly. Then Rex Ryan raided the cupboard in Baltimore, signing safety Jim Leonhard and linebacker Bart Scott.

Ryan was the Ravens defensive co-ordinator before the Jets hired him as their head man. So Ryan knows what Leonhard and Scott can bring to the team. I caught up with Bart Scott at the ESPN Zone in Times Square. I talked to him about various things from his expectations for the Jets, to a near dog bite for coach Ryan, to his nickname.
