NY Red Bulls: Larry Hoff, Terry Boss and more
8:10PM | March 26, 2009 | posted by Lolita Lopez | comments: 5
The PIX Morning News' Larry Hoff was out at Giants Stadium this morning to take in a little futbol. Larry posed as a goalkeeper (hey Red Bulls, I want my own jersey too) and then interviewed the real thing, Terry Boss. The last name should be familiar! Terry is the younger brother of Giants Tight End, Kevin Boss. The Red Bulls' new goalie explains their brotherly love plus updates us on the team's new arena, under construction. The Red Bulls play their last season at Giants Stadium beginning with the home opener Saturday night at 7:30 against the New England Revolution. Check out our video...and for more on the Red Bulls, check out

Since PIX seems intent on increasing local programming, how about televising some Red Bull's games? Also - The Rutgers' WOMEN's Basketball team has at least 1 more tournament game - why not show it.
We always try to incorporate the ladies...it's almost a given with me on the desk. We covered the Rutgers game against Auburn earlier this week and UConn too. Stay tuned!
Not just the hilights - the whole game
hey j - i imagine there are complicated TV rights issues at hand as far as that Rutgers' game is concerned. In much the same way CBS has exlusive rights with the men's tourney, I bet ESPN has the same w/ the women. As for the Red Bulls, it's probably the same deal with whomever televises their stuff...(MSG)?
Just trying to help.
You're right, Hippopotannonymous! It is extremely difficult to purchase the rights for many sporting events. Even when we got the Jets/Patriots last year, we had to go through a bidding war of sorts with others and were somehow chosen to be the broadcast station. We are trying though...2 Rangers games, 2 Knicks games recently. Hopefully we will have more of that and NFL games, too (only when they are on the NFL Network because of those exclusive rights by NBC, FOX and ESPN) Stay tuned!
