Banner Day For Big East

Well... it's that time of the year... March Madness... If you are a college basketball fan or even if you're not... Everyone's going to be tuned in to the tournament. Sunday was a great day for the Big East. Seven teams were chosen for the "Big Dance." Three of those teams are number one seeds. So have you filled out your brackets yet???
Since we have no local teams to speak of, it does make it a little less fun for me. St. John's, Seton Hall and Rutgers have been disappointing for awhile now. We don't even have the smaller teams like Manhattan, Iona, or Hofstra hold our interest. So I hope that the Big East teams will do well. Even though there are no local teams (UConn is the closest) there are some local players to root for. Uconn does have two of them: A.J. Price from Amityville and Kemba Walker from the Bronx.
Pittsburgh has long been a strong recruiter in this area... There are four local guys on their team including Levance Fields from Brooklyn. Villanova even has 3 guys from the tri-state... Louisville also has 3... I'm sure that there are many local players in the dance that I haven't thought of. I'm no expert, but I see Pittsburgh going a long way in this tournament. They already have the confidence to knock off UConn if they should happen to meet in the later rounds. What do you guys think? Who do you like?
