Rangers Save Their Best For PIX

Mired in a major February slump, the Rangers chose tonight’s game against the Avalanche – aired right here on PIX 11! – to play arguably their best game of the season.

The night started with Rangers color analyst Joe Micheletti saying during the pre-game show that “the guys at PIX promised us FIVE goals, so the Rangers better get going early.”

Little did we know Micheletti was DEAD ON!..and it didn’t take long. Ryan Callahan scored the game’s first goal 28 seconds into the action. He was followed up 40 seconds later by Nikolai Zherdev, who made it 2-0 Rangers 1:08 seconds into the game!

Not bad for a team with two goals COMBINED in their previous two games.

But the Blue Shirts weren’t done there. The Rangers scored a season high SIX goals; meeting and then EXCEEDING Micheletti’s “five goal guarantee.”

We’re always happy to bring you the best in New York sports, and it’s even better when the home team cooperates. Thanks Rangers!

Now, if you’re a superstitious fan – like I suspect many of you are – you’ll be happy to know that PIX will air another Ranger game, Saturday, March 21st.

Here’s to hoping that the Rangers won’t enter that game in a major slump. But whether they come into that night against the Sabres hot or cold, you can be confident that because it’s on PIX, the Blue Shirts will be at their best.

That’s the “PIX Guarantee!”

I saw that game on Saturday Night. Oh, Boy what a rush, especially in the 1st period when the rangers scored 4 goals in the period. WPIX should be the offical broadcast home for NY Rangers Hockey. PIX should pick up more NY Rangers game to broadcast. NY Rangers on PIX11 a #1 combination.
