My Buddy: Bring Plax Back

Giants running back Brandon Jacobs wants his buddy, Plaxico Burress back on the team! Jacobs insists that the Giants would have been "15 and 1" and quote "we win the Super Bowl" if Plax had played out the season. As we all know, Burress was suspended for the last four games of the regular season after shooting himself in the leg in November. The Giants lost four of their last five games.

The two teammates apparently text and talk often. Jacobs insists that Plax is a "different guy" since the shooting and deserve a fresh start. I don't disagree. Plax is a great athlete and talented football player. Maybe it takes something like this to bring him back to Earth. It's just unfortunate that it takes a self inflicted gunshot wound to make Burress realize that he has to be responsible, not just for himself but for his wife and son, and that he must be grounded at all times. I don't care how much money these professional athletes make, they should always remember it is their job. It's not like I can go around being disorderly in my place of employment or even outside of it. I have a responsibility and really... integrity. I want to be able to look at myself in the mirror each morning. What happened to good old fashion values and playing the sport for the love of the game? Get back to your roots, you know? These Pros get too many free passes.

This being said, I believe in second chances and wish Plax the best. However, Plax's football future will be based in part on the outcome of his legal proceedings on weapons possession charges. The Giants and the NFL will wait to act.

The Giants, however, shouldn't wait to act on Jacobs. The free agent, wants to be back with the team and hopes Big Blue treats him fairly. We know what that means...show me the money! I know Jacobs is often attered and bruised, pummeling into defenders at will. Yet, he brings the team energy and coupled with other backs plus a more diverse throwing game (Plax or no Plax, the Giants just did not react well to losing the WR at the end of the season), Brandon will be an asset.

Let me know what you think....Lolita

I THINK THAT BUGRESS SHOULD COME BACK. HE IS AN AMAZING PLAYER. LAST YEAR AT THE SUPER BOWL, WITH THAT TOUCHTOWN HE MADE WE WOULD HAVE NEVER WON THE GAME. NO MATTER WHAT I WILL ALWAYS LOVE BUGRESS. I HOPE THE COUCH WILL LET HIM COME BACK.

I believe Plaxico Burress is a overrated WR. As many of the Overpaid receives in the league the guy barely dives for the ball.

Bradon Jacobs should thank his lucky stars for whatever kind of coach you call Tom . In games where Jacobs and Ward have not been effective, why is Bradshaw always returning kick (Hixson) or riding the bench ?

Toomer is a die hard player, someone who plays every down. Had Kerry Collin or Kurt Warner still been around, most Giant receiver would average more than 50 yards per game.

Manning is a spoil "watermelon" throwing brat. His only success will continue to come from a TALL PLAXICO.

But if the league allows "stick em" ever to be used again on players helmets. Manning will break Farves touchdown record, with or without Plaxico.

The talents there Loli, The quarterbacks not !!! You could even throw to Bradshaw from the backfield and have move success than a shot (or playing) Plaxico.

Dominic and Boss will are developed its the Watermelon Man (Manning) that not Ripe !!!
