So who are the real Jets? Jets fans want to know. Are the real Jets the team that rattled off 5 straight wins including impressive wins in New England and in Tennessee against the previously undefeated Titans? Or are they the team that lost ugly games to the Broncos and the 49ers? Which are they? Jets fans want to know. These poor fans have been through enough. Just one championship and that was way back in 1969, not even in my lifetime! They want to know: Is this a team to get serious about? Or is it the Same Ole Jets? That's a real good question.

The Jets are now in a 3-way tie for first place with the Dolphins and Patriots. They still have destiny in their hands but it will not be easy. They have a home game against Buffalo before they go out west to face the Seahawks. By the way, the Jets are 0-3 in the Pacific Time Zone this season. Then they end the season against old friend Chad Pennington and the Miami Dolphins. The Jets had a chance to have that game mean nothing to them. Now, most likely it will mean something. You think Chad will have something to play for that day? But let's not get ahead of ourselves.

The Jets have problems to solve now. Why did Lavernues Coles and Jerricho Cotchery have a grand total of 2 catches for 15 yards between the 2 of them? Why did Shaun Hill slice up the Jets D for 285 yards and 2 touchdowns? Why did the 49ers DOUBLE the Jets time of possession? That's just a few questions to get you going.

Another source of concern. Coles is getting a little cranky. Coles, who was less than pleased when his buddy Pennington went to Miami, had these comments about Mr. Favre last week: "We're in a quarterback-driven offense where he pretty much has control of everything, where before the offense was pretty much driven through me. ... I just kind of become a role player instead of a guy that teams had to prepare for." He later continued: "I catch balls from the Jugs machine. The ball probably comes out harder from there than it does from anywhere else." Is that a crack about Brett's arm? Sounds like it. This team better get everyone on the right page and soon. What was a very promising season could slip away!
