What If A Banged-Up Brandon Can't Play?
Brandon Jacobs, the Giants’ mammoth running back, is questionable for Sunday’s game at Dallas. His left knee is barking after getting smacked in the 3rd quarter last week against the Eagles.
Jacobs has taken a couple of shots to that knee this season, and it’s understandable that the coaching staff is taking a cautious approach with their all-world rusher.
But should we read anything further into Jacobs’ increasingly brittle frame?
The 26-year old takes a bulldozer-like approach to running the ball, and over time that’ll wear down even the most chiseled ball-carrier.

We stopped by practice today to find out how Jacobs is coping with his injury and how the Giants plan to replace his production if he can’t go against the ‘Boys. Take a look.
Like the piece suggests, the Giants can support a Jacobs-less offense for a week or so AT THE MOST. But a prolonged injury to their feature back will most likely stall the offense.
In contrast, the Giants slew of capable receivers can replace Plaxico Burress indefinitely. The same can’t be said for the back-up backfield.
You can spread the wealth in the passing game. The running game, on the other hand, traditionally highlights one stud.
