It might only be high school football but when it comes to Barry Sanders Jr., it looks like the apple doesn't fall too far from the tree. Last Saturday during the Oklahoma Class 2A State Semi-Finals, the son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Barry Sanders, broke through tackles and hurdled another en route to a 64 yard touchdown on a reverse play. Check out the video after the jump.

It was the freshman's ninth touchdown of his high school career. He's got 637 yards on the season, most coming in the second half because he doesn't start. But that's okay with Sanders Jr., he uses it to his advantage.

"The defense gets tired as the game keeps going, and I've found a role. It's been a lot of fun," Sanders Jr. said.

At 5-foot-10, Sanders Jr. is already taller than his father, who played several Pro Bowl seasons with the Detroit Lions. Dad best known for his electrifying runs, has set the standards high, so the question is how far will his namesake go?? Junior has some big shoes to fill.

In the meantime, the youngster is just hoping that his pops will be in the stands watch him tonight, when his school takes on Chandler in the Class 2A Oklahoma State Championship.
