Ok, Brock's Champ, Now What?
There I was Saturday night hoping with just about everyone else in the free world that Randy 'The Natural' Couture would turn back the clock-again-and beat big, bad, but inexperienced Brock Lesnar at UFC 91, Sadly, it didn't happen. Couture's age and cage rust couldn't deal with Lesnar's size and power.Yes, I'm not happy that Lesnar is the new UFC Heavyweight Champion. No one deserves a title shot after three fights. But Lesnar's win does open up a whole can of worms as to who can 'stop the Brock.'

Upon further review, Couture was tiny compared to Lesnar. Weighing in at 220 pounds campared to Lesnar's 265, Randy was probably close to 50 pounds lighter when the two guys entered the Octagon. Once he was stunned by Lesnar in the 2nd round, Couture couldn't deal with Lesnar's pure size and strength.
Next up for Lesnar-the winner of Frank Mir (who has beaten Lesnar already by submission) and Antonio Rodrigo Nougeira. Yes, Mir defeated Lesnar, but his jiu-jitsu almost wasn't enough to stop Lesnar, who was pounding Mir before Lesnar left a leg free for the taking. and Mir won with a kneebar.
MMA fans know Nougeira is terrific on the ground too. But, would his standup be able to withstand Lesnar's two fisted attacks?
Of course, the BEST heavyweight in the world, Fedor isn't even in the UFC. But if Lesnar holds on to his title long enough to improve and give Dana White time to sign Emalianenko, THAT would make for a pay per view worth buying.
