Off To Foxborough

So here we go...off to Foxborough and the game that will decide the top spot in the AFC East. Jets/Pats on WPIX...we have a jammed pack live preview. Cool! (Hey even we are fans of the game.)

Now, if you think traveling "reporter style" is glamorous, it's anything but! Think typical family trip minus the DVD player (if you're lucky) or Mom reciting poetry or reading excerpts from novels. (Or was that just my fam?) Packed some magazines, the iPod and snacks (that we ate in the first 30 minutes of the trip). Well... There was hunger and of course TRAFFIC (getting out of NY is always a pain) but once on I-95 we started to coast. Thank goodness we left before rush hour.

One of the engineers, Eric,(the other, James, had to drive solo) just talked to our point person in MA and we made plans to meet him at Gillette Stadium in the morning....MORNING what? The game isn't until 8P, the WPIX pre game at 7:30P!? That's what it takes-between finding a position for our live truck, making sure everything works, and so much more the PRE pre game is probably the most important part. It will be a long day but better prepared than not. Personally, I am looking forward to walking around without the crowds to get a sense of the place. I like taking in a stadium, a ball field, an arena EMPTY....it reminds me of playing college volleyball/track and arriving hours before the match/meet. In the silence, I picture the scene come game time and get pumped. Sad but true maybe, but it still works now.

After some "Girl Talk" and "Mew" (good driving music if you're ever in need), we stopped to get gas in Attlesboro, MA. The most eventful part of the trip...$1.99 for a gallon of reg unleaded-man that's good! It took just $33 to fill up our Explorer.

20 minutes later and 4 hours plus total (ugh my back), we made it! Now I prep, looking over all my research and get ready for a good game tomorrow.... of course after dinner. A girl's got to eat... -Lolita Lopez, Special to Bobby v. The World
