Call him the Rudy of the 21st century, David Vobora will be making his first career start at middle linebacker for the Rams this Sunday.

The last pick in the draft, 252nd to be exact, has not started a game in his rookie year since Marty Moore did it for the Patriots in 1994. So, despite how bad the Rams may be, this is still an incredible story of perseverance for Vobora. The Rams season is in shambles, sadly these guys are already playing for pride, so there is no question Jim Haslett is ready to try anything to get a win when they host the upstart Dolphins.

David Vobora, who was upgraded from the practice squad Nov. 4th, played college ball at Idaho.Despite having played his way into the starting line up, Vobora says he's far from satisfied.

"It's been a dream come true to get to this point, but there's no complacency," he said, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "I always want more, and this is a good opportunity to get in and contribute and show, 'Hey, this is what I can do; this is what I bring to the table.'"

Irrelevant no more, you can only hope Vobora will make an impact on the struggling Rams. I wouldn't bank on the Edward Jones Dome erupting into chant's of "Vobora!, Vobora!, Vobora!", but you never know....
