Blueshirts Hot On Ice, Cold Off It

It’s been three weeks since the death of Rangers’ prospect Alexei Cherepanov during a game in Russia. Alexi had yet to sign with the team. Now, in a move that can only be described as callous and insensitive, the Rangers are asking for a compensatory draft pick!

What is Glen Sather thinking? Even if the Blueshirts are due this pick by “the letter of the law”, could they wait till the season was over? The Rangers have the best record in the NHL’s Eastern Conference-right now the most interesting of the local hoops and hockey teams. WHY do this now? Let Alexei’s family and friends have time to grieve instead of thinking about the bottom line. This move could easily be done in the off season. Just another lame brain move by Jim Dolan and Company.
