The 5th Annual Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation Golf Outing

It was five years ago that our weekend sports anchor Sean Kimerling was diagnosed with testicular cancer and passed away within a month at age 37. Friends and family gathered on Monday to celebrate Sean's life and to raise awareness about testicular cancer at the 5th Annual Sean Kimerling Testicular Cancer Foundation Golf Outing.
In addition to members of our CW11 family, a number of celebrities were on hand to participate in the annual benefit at Bethpage State Park. It was a day of golf, dinner, live jazz, and it was all for a great cause. Video after the jump.

The Kimerling family.
The program incorrectly states that the Silver sponsor is anonymous; it was in fact from Rory Cutaia & an updated program exists.I will try to have Rhoda Raff get it to you.
Thanks

Going National
Dear Friends,
First, we would like to thank all of you who are here today
and all those who have supported us through the last five
years with your time, work, contributions, and other support.
Together, we’ve had good success getting the word out about
testicular cancer and the need for regular self-exams.
Through public service announcements, media coverage of
our events, stories in newspapers and on local and national
television, sending survivors and celebrities to schools,
distributing shower cards, our websites, etc., we’ve reached
millions of men. We have helped men detect their disease
early, saved lives and averted needless suffering.
The reason for our efforts is simple: no one should die from
this disease.
In the last few months alone, we’ve had incredible success
with a series of irreverent, funny, yet informative, videos on
the internet. In a perfect example of the power of viral
media, literally millions of people have watched the videos,
shared them with their friends, and talked about them with
young men they know. The videos’ success has been reported
in many places, from the Salt Lake Tribune to Kanye West’s
personal blog. In the process, young men have absorbed and
shared a simple lesson: check yourself. We are extremely
grateful to Struck for their incredible work creating these
videos. Check them out at www.carpetestes.org
We are poised to have an even bigger impact with Check
Em, our national print campaign. This high-impact,
provocative campaign is certain to bring the discussion of
testicular cancer to the national stage, raise awareness of the
disease to unprecedented levels, and help remove the stigma
that often keeps men from seeking medical advice even
when they know they may have a problem. Produced for the
foundation by leading New York brand marketing and creative
agencies Acme Brand Content and Barker/DZP, the campaign
will feature top celebrities, world-class creative, and placements
in top national publications.
It is five years since Sean’s death. Our family and his friends
and colleagues continue to miss him terribly. However, we
are grateful to you for joining us in this work and keeping
his memory alive. We know that the foundations’ work has
already saved many young men and will continue to save
others as we move forward.
This is an incredibly exciting time for the foundation. As you
know, all of this is possible only through your help. We are an
all volunteer effort, supported entirely by each of you, the
incredible help and donated time and resources of folks like
Struck, Barker/DZP, Acme Brand Content, Channel 11, the
Mets, and others, and the tireless efforts of our volunteers.
To make Check Em a success, to keep generating great content
like the carpe testes videos, and to keep building this organization,
we need your help more than ever before.
We thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for all that
you have done and will continue to do in the future.
Noah, Ervine, Joshua, Andrea and Aimee Kimerling and
