Can't anybody here play this game? Does anybody care?

If you’re like my friend Dana in Westbury, THAT’S what you’re wondering after this Mets’ weekend -ESPECIALLY yesterday’s loss to the Brewers. Ollie Perez blows a four run lead, 5 double plays from the offense, one each in innings 3 thru 8-10 left on base.

I’m sorry, but even in this watered Major League Baseball we have today -YOU have to hold onto a 6-2 lead, HAVE TO. Instead, Perez looked like he wanted to replace Drew Carey on The Price Is Right: 4 and a third innings, 6 runs on eight hits. I stood up for him after the home opener, but he flat out stunk yesterday.

To make matters worse -and this goes back to last year-when the team gets behind, they can’t get over the top. Perez is CLEARLY to blame for Sunday’s loss-BUT YOU NEVER expect this team to rally and win a game. David Wright says the whole clubhouse is angry -but WHERE is that anger? Can I see somebody throw a bat, or curse out a reporter after a game? At least Mike Mussina was ticked off after letting Manny beat him Saturday. YOU DON’T see that with this team.

Two things: DON’T BOO SANTANA, Mets fans-for the second straight start, he got no run support. Even the best can have a clunker. Here’s a strange but very interesting fact: The Mets best players offensively right now-Pagan, Schneider and Church-NONE of whom was here for last September’s horrific collapse.

Willie Randolph-its time to inspire the troops-it’s early, but many Mets fans are out for blood already. It is very fair to say-if the Mets don’t at least reach the NLCS, Randolph-and GM Omar Minaya-need to go.

First of all mets fans need to calm down.. Every game its something with you. One day willie needs to go, he stinks, the next day you all love him... The mets are 7-7, currently they stink... They are playing in a weak divison.. My opinion of course.. The phillies have no pitching, just hitting, florida can score some runs but weak pitching, washington has neither, the braves have the weakest bullpen in the East.. For all that the mets have, a starting rotation that compares to the top in all of baseball, a very strong line up, a 7-7 record is down righ right terrible. Maybe mets fans should realize that some of these players are getting old.. maybe beltran isnt as good as people thought.. I mean he never wanted to be a met anyway. Carlos delgado another aging player who from what i remember didnt want to leave florida at first until he realized they were about to unload talent in the next few years.. moises alou, he may play once again in the old times game during the all star break.. Pedro who??? Aaron heilman wants to be a starter. he doesnt want this coming into the 8th inning crap... billy wager can only pitch if its a save situation, with no runners on. god forbid he comes into a tie game.. thats a loss.. does anyone think angel pagan is going to hit 385 all season.. Once alou does come back hes going to start.. The best hitters right now are wright, and church and schneider who you mets fans thought that trade was horrible... I was listening last night hearing many mets fans think reyes is out of his slump.. Um, he faces odalis perez who gets alot of players out of their slumps with an 80 mph fastball over the middle.. its one game people, what if he goes 1-4 tonight is he still out of his slump. Lets see the mets go on a big winning streak before we crown them champs. matter of fact lets see the mets get into the playoffs before we crown them anything...
