Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm Coming to WPIX
HBO AND WARNER BROS. DOMESTIC TELEVISION DISTRIBUTION LICENSE SYNDICATION RIGHTS TO ENTOURAGE® AND CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM® TO TRIBUNE BROADCASTING IN MULTIYEAR DEAL
Critically Acclaimed, Award-Winning Comedy Series to Air on Tribune Broadcasting Stations in Fall 2010
BURBANK, Calif., LOS ANGELES and CHICAGO (May 6, 2009) -- HBO and Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution have licensed the broadcast television syndication rights to the critically acclaimed and award-winning comedy series Entourage and Curb Your Enthusiasm to Tribune Broadcasting's stations in a multiyear agreement for a fall 2010 airing. The announcement was made today by Scott Carlin, President, Domestic Distribution, HBO; Sean Compton, Senior Vice President of Programming & Entertainment, Tribune Broadcasting; and Ken Werner, President, Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution (WBDTD).
Under terms of the three-year pact, Tribune has licensed all seven seasons of Curb Your Enthusiasm and all six seasons of Entourage for broadcast on all of Tribune's owned-and-operated stations in 17 markets, including New York (WPIX-TV), Los Angeles (KTLA-TV) and Chicago (WGN-TV), among others. Both series will be presented in strip form on the Tribune Broadcasting stations, with episodes airing Monday--Friday, along with one weekend telecast, beginning in fall 2010.

April 24, 2009 -- New York, NY -- Play ball! WPIX will again partner with the New York Mets Baseball Team for the fourth annual “Weather Education Day” a special field trip program and interactive pre-game meteorology lesson for 8,000 students from throughout New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The event, to be held at the new Citi Field on Wednesday, April 29th will begin with the students participating in an interactive pre-game meteorology lesson at 11 am, provided by PIX weather experts Mr. G and Linda Church. At the conclusion of the educational program, students will watch the Mets take on Florida Marlins at 1:10 p.m.
"Weather Education Day" engages students in a curriculum based program to study weather patterns and phenomenon. Mr. Met and the Mets Pepsi Party Patrol will also be on hand to entertain the students.
Linda Church will also be delivering the forecast for "PIX Morning News" from Citi Field beginning at 4:30 am.

NEW YORK, March 30, 2009--WPIX, Tribune Broadcasting's New York CW affiliate, was awarded 6 Emmy® Awards at the New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' 52nd Annual Award presentation Sunday night in Manhattan at the Marriott Marquis Times Square.
WPIX celebrated a total of 6 wins, receiving an Emmy Award for Best Hard News, Best Sports Coverage, Best News Special, Best Journalistic Enterprise, Best Politics/Government, and Best Promotion. WPIX has won nearly 180 Emmy® Awards to date.
The New York Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' 52nd Annual New York Emmy® Awards honor outstanding achievement in the television industry during the eligibility period of September 1, 2007 through August 31, 2008.
