Hi Everyone,

Kiran Krishnan Schroeder is a week and two days old today, Friday, July 31. I can't believe how time is flying.

First off, I would like to say thank you to all of you who posted such words of encouragement throughout this whole process. I feel truly blessed to have you all by my side and Kiran is lucky to have such an extended family. I hope you all know that when I was feeling overwhelmed , I would read the messages you left me and they would help navigate through all those crazy hormones racing through my body. LOL Just ask my husband :)

The delivery as a whole was an amazing experience. When you think you can't handle anymore, somehow you dig deep within yourself and accomplish this amazing task. I have to say being in labor for 24 hours was tough!!!! I made it without and epidural till 6cm and then the pain just became too hard to manage. I do have to say that I also had back labor and that is not an easy thing to go through. So fast forward two hours and there I was pushing my little baby boy out! It was a surreal experience when Dr. Kurtz yelled out, it's a boy and then they laid that precious little bundle on my chest. I was disillusioned. I couldn't believe he was all mine. I had waited a long time to be a mom and that moment will forever be crystallized in my head.

The week has been tough but Kiran has three hour stretches of sleep at night. I am grateful for that time to myself in bed because the rest of the day he is quite demanding when it comes to feedings and counting dirty diapers. Actually, I have a funny story to share with all of you. He was a tiny bit constipated this week and I took him to the doctor. Well, they told me just to tickle him you know where to stimulate him and I think he must of heard the conversation because within 15 minutes there was a little present for me. Too funny!!!

Other than that, these are the newest pics of Kiran. I hope you like them. He doesn't have curly hair. It looks straight and his eyes are yet to be determined. He is however, happy and healthy. For that, I thank God. Hope you are all going to have a great weekend. I certainly will. It's my birthday this Sunday and I was given the best present ever.

A big thanks to Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz for his certificate for Kiran. It will go in his room. After all everyone from Staten Island is from Brooklyn :)

All the best,
Sukanya and Kiran

After a long day at the hospital and a solid hour of labor, my husband Eric and I said hello to our beautiful baby boy Kiran Krishnan Schroeder at 9:16pm last night.

Kiran weighs 7 pounds, and has blue eyes and curly, black hair. I'm so happy. He's already the love of my life!

I'm still exhausted, but Kiran and I are both doing great.

Hi Everybody,

I'm at the hospital right now. We've been here since about 9:30pm last night and this morning, at around 7:40am, my water broke. As of 8am, the doctors told me I'm 2cm dilated.

Suki Mama Mania has really begun and the party's just getting started! lol

I'm trying to conserve as much energy as I can, but I'm feeling good and feeling positive. My husband and family are here with me too and taking care of me.

I'll share some more pics later and keep you guys updated.

Thank you so much for your well wishes!

Hi Everyone,

First of all a big thanks to Donna Newman for the beautiful baby bibs. And yes Donna, they are hand stitched with love :)

Debrorah Appell, thank you for the amazing baby blanket. I will treasure the baby gifts and my child is blessed to have wonderful people like you in it's life. I included photos of what they made, after the jump.

As for the pregnancy, I'm getting to the end! I just started my weekly visits to the doctor. It's scary stuff. I keep on thinking: "Will I have the strength to push this baby out?" I know I can but there is always this voice of doubt in your head. Ugh!!! I will get through this moment of weakness. We are pre-registered and I do have my bags packed. Other than that, I just talk to the baby every morning, telling it how ready I am for it come.

I did get a ton of stuff done this week. The crib is ready and most of our stuff has been packed. I hope by the end of the month we will be out of our apartment and ready to focus all our energy on the baby. Then, we will tackle the new house.

So many blessings and I do count all of you among them.

Thank you for all your suppport.

Hi Everyone,

Week 35 is ending and Week 36 is starting. In fact, Saturday will be the countdown: four weeks left until Baby Schroeder is going to show his or her lovely face. I truly cannot wait.

As for the rest of my life, in one word: hectic. Everyday it feels like there is something major to do. Yesterday, I finally finished all the laundry and cleaned out my childhood bedroom. For those of you who don't know, I will be moving in with my parents for the first couple of weeks. Mom is going to be my salvation. I was able to get the nursery in some sort of order and today's task will be cleaning and moving out!!! I can't wait to just get everything in order. I think I'm driving my mom crazy because since I'm moving into her house, it's all about getting stuff there organized.

Next week, I will be strating those weekly doctor visits and hopefully I did not gain a ton of weight like I did when I took my babymoon. Note to self: you can gain an incredible amount of weight if you love ice cream sundaes, LOL!

Other than that folks, I feel great. I feel ready as I will ever be and thank you for all your love and words of encouragement! It has been a blessing.

Have a great weekend and I will see you on Monday.
