The Party's Just Getting Started

Hi Everybody,

I'm at the hospital right now. We've been here since about 9:30pm last night and this morning, at around 7:40am, my water broke. As of 8am, the doctors told me I'm 2cm dilated.

Suki Mama Mania has really begun and the party's just getting started! lol

I'm trying to conserve as much energy as I can, but I'm feeling good and feeling positive. My husband and family are here with me too and taking care of me.

I'll share some more pics later and keep you guys updated.

Suki, you look great and you sound very upbeat. Remember this is your experience, so push other people's own out of your mind. You have love and support surrounding you and it is a great to have that on your side at this time. First pregnancy labor tend to be longer than additional ones and surprisingly you may not go as many hours as you think. The worst part for me was the back pains but that is forgotten after the shoulders slip out and you then enter a state of euphoria that is 'wow'. Enjoy.

Awwww, Suki, I am sooo happy for you. I still remember all that transpired when I gave birth to my son. (He is 10 now.) Once you hold your baby in your arms, you will feel like the labor pains were all worth it.

Good luck Suki. I work in L&D at a NJ hospital. I see babies being born all day long. I still get excited each and every time. Child birth is such a beautiful experience. Your new little one is so blessed to have such a devoted and loving family waiting in the wings today. I am a mom of 2 boys 12 and 8. I can remember the days they were born like it was yesterday and they are the 2 best days of my life... Enjoy every painful minute of it. You will miss that little one kicking about your belly once he/she is out, but at the same time you finally get to see it's little face. Congrats to all of you!!

Good luck, Suki!! I watch you every morning before work - I remember when you first announced your good news. I'm due to have my own bundle of joy in (approximately) 4 weeks...

Suki...I'm so happy for you...when I heard you this morning I was so happy it brought tears of joy to my eyes. Once you're baby is born you have no idea what joy it will bring. Enjoy every second, minute because times goes by so quickly before you know it baby will be statrting college. LOL! My oldest is 17 years old and I wonder why he grew up so fast...

Good luck Suki! I watch you every morning and I almost didn't notice that you were gone today. I thought you were preparing for the next upcoming news segment until they announced that you were in the hospital. You sound and look great. Make sure you take lots of pictures moment by moment from the beginning to the end as this will probably be one of the many many special occasions to come! Keep us posted

OMG!!! I am so excited for you & your husband!! I watch you every morning on the news!! I've been keeping up with your pregnancy for several months now because I too am having a baby! Ah the suspense is killing me!!! I used to watch channel 11 news every morning with my dad as I was getting ready for school. Now I watch it every morning while I get my kids ready for school. Hope all is well!

Suki I love you very much, you and the entire pix team became part of my life and I don't leave home without seeing or hearing you all in the morning, my day would not be the same. Hi Suki, i watch you every morning and i was happy to hear that u were pregnant and now the time has come, when i turned on the news this mornin i didnt see you then u were on the phone in the hospital in labor... it's the best time of ur life i'm 43yrs and my one and only daughter justed turned 21yrs old sat july 18 i took her to Atlantic City for a few days time does go by fast. i want to wish you and ur husband the best of luck with ur new arrival.. enjoy..

Suki...I was so happy when you announced that you were expecting. Not only will you guys be blessed to have a baby, but the baby will be blessed to have wonderful parents! You are truly a refreshing breath of fresh air...I love your fashion savvy style and you've kept it throughout your pregnancy. Remember, although this is your first time with labor, you will do great! All mommy's have had those same feelings,all the pain is sooooooooo worth it once you take a look at your beautiful creation. Suki I am so proud of you. I knew U were pregnant before U even did! I totally dig U as an anchor and can relate to the whole morning news crew. U guys are just like the guys I grew up with... fun...happy.. can make jokes about one another. Love the whole scene... Anyway.... Suki, me again from T'dad. You probably have read numerous books and listened to lots of advice on baby rearing. Some natural instincts will kick in and one of the major thing I learnt was to demand feed your baby and not to wake your baby to feed him. Do enjoy breastfeeding Eric jr. Once again congratulations to you and Eric.
