Week 20 Is The Calm Before The Storm

week-20.jpg

Hi Everyone,

Week 20 is here and my belly isn't the only thing that's growing. In fact, I went bra shopping and, well, let's just say I'm almost as big as my cubicle mate Jill :) LOL.

According to the books, I should have gained 10 pounds by now and will be gaining a pound a week. Oh, the things to look forward to. Instead of a small house, I'll start looking like a shed.

The baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces and is about 6 1/2 inches long from the head to heal, though the doctor already said my baby is off the charts.

The books also says that the baby is swallowing more these days, which is good practice for his digestive system. He's also producing meconium, a black, sticky by-product of digestion. This gooey substance will accumulate in his bowels, and you'll see it in his first soiled diaper (some babies pass meconium in the womb or during delivery).

I'm hanging in there and so far so good. My husband and I are looking forward to buying a house soon so junior will have a place to sleep and relax. I know for a fact this is the calm before the storm, so I'm trying to enjoy the second trimester before my ankles and hormones start to swell.

I hope all is well with you. Till next week.

All the best,
Sukanya

You've always looked pregnant; now it's official...

Oh wow... bras and gooey bowels. Hot. Is this considered "news you can use?" Personally, I think you should've blogged about the weather dude this morning. That guy has a real future ahead of him. Probably behind bars, but it's something to look forward to.

Birthin some babies!

I was so happy to hear you were pregnant, I have watched you for years. I gave up on getting pregnant when I turned 36 yrs old then in Febuary I found out that God blessed me with a baby. So I enjoy watching the news even more now that your going through pregnancy as well. God Bless and good luck.

"Instead of a small house, I'll start looking like a shed."

Suki, don't worry about the weight gain, there'll just be more of you to love :) Besides, if you don't succumb to the "I'm eating for two" old wives' tale, and keep your carb intake down but up your protein intake instead, you'll make out just fine. (Look at me talking like I'm Dr. Steve or something, ha!)

We are all praying for your safe delivery. Keep looking yummy, mummy!
