Mocker and the Wrong Path Made Right
On the night of the Superbowl, Laurance Grube was walking with a buddy in the street on Lowell Avenue in Central Islip. The sidewalk was burried under piles of snow and ice.
A car hit him. He died. Suffolk police say the driver was drunk. The next day, I saw video of people still walking in the street.
The hit and run driver has to answer for what happened (he bonded out of jail today, arraignment coming up). I talked to the lawyer for the family of the man who was killed. They're devastated.
But I saw close calls there even today.
I'll be back to Central Islip to check on Wednesday. See what happened in that report.
