Mocker and the Picture
Some folks have asked me about the picture I took yesterday after getting to the scene of the helicopter crash in the East River. We were in the area. A few minutues after it happened, I ran up to the edge of the water and took out my camera phone. I posted a shot and it went around the world as rescue crews worked to save lives.

It became part of the record of that day. Yesterday, I did TV and radio interviews with the BBC. The Associated Press picked up the photo. I just happened to be there as recuse crews worked to save the lives of the people on board the helicopter.
Investigators are along the water today and looking at the helicopter now at Floyd Bennett Field in Jamaica Bay. NTSB, at a 5pm news conference today, said there was no sign of "catastrophic engine failure" and no sign that weather was a factor.

Mocker on the L Train

Riders will see more trains beginning in mid-2012.
Mocker and More Subway Cell Service
Within the next 12 months, cell service (for AT&T and TMobile) is coming to more than two dozen additional subway platforms. Click below to see...
If you have any questions, ask riders in Brooklyn and Queens (where we have been talking or not talking on platforms and trains for years above ground).

Didn't we just get a new system? And passengers report another breakdown in communications.

Mocker and the Subway Platform Call
Interesting timing of things. It is helpful to have cell service on the platforms. But we have to be careful when we whip out those cell phones on the platforms. Thefts are up about 17%.
