As Mother's Day and Father's Day near, it can be a particularly hard time of year if you are parentless. So how can you keep the memory of your parents alive? Allison Gilbert, author of "Parentless Parents," stopped by with some ideas.
They included:
Use Technology
Create a "fake" photograph showing three generations of your family. Within seconds, you will have created a photo of three generations that looks as if it was taken at the same time. Kids will see the physical traits they've inherited through the generations.
Tell Specific Stories
Tell your kids about your favorite Mother's Day you shared with your mom or Father's Day you shared with your dad. A specific story, geared to a specific holiday, is so much more effective and evocative than a general one.
Involve Kids in Kitchen
From recipe card, to shopping for ingredients, to slicing and dicing. Don't just serve it...your kids will remember more about this meal or dessert, if they're involved in its creation.

Once there, she informed Goldman that she was staying in Brazil-and keeping Sean, setting in motion an international controversy that would eventually reach the highest levels of the U.S. and Brazilian governments. It would be almost five years before David saw Sean again.

In this down-to-earth guide for moms of tweens, Erika Katz offers practical advice for building self-esteem, confidence, and trust.
Moms of tween girls know what`s coming: puberty. As a young girl heads toward the teen years and exerts her independence, mom suddenly seems out of touch. She just doesn`t understand.
That`s the shift Erika Katz -- former actress and model and now mother of a tween girl -- hopes to prevent by teaching moms how to open up a dialogue during the often awkward preteen and early teen years. Her approach: give moms all the information they need to guide their daughters through the trials of womanhood while providing fun bonding activities they can do with their daughters.

• Learn from the recession.
The downturn in the economy taught young adults that "nothing in life is guaranteed. Even though they might have had the college degree and great work experience, the ground could go beneath them at any moment. They might lose their job, or suddenly not be able to live on their own. It's been a very humbling time," she says.
That means young adults will likely be more careful about taking on debt as well as risks of getting downsized at work, so they'll find other revenue streams and become entrepreneurial, as Torabi herself was when she was laid off in 2009.

90210 actress Annalynne McCord stopped by to talk about the show, her charity Somaly.org and her latest project -- starring in the off=Broadway play "Love, Loss and What I Wore."
"Love, Loss and What I Wore" follows fragmented stories about the nostalgic power of women’s clothing. A starry cast of five women enrobed in chic black sit on stools and tell funny, wistful and universal memories about their families and loved ones through the prism of their closets.
The throughline is narrated by Gingy, a wise older woman who reminisces about what she wore at milestones in her life—complete with sketches of the styles. Like a long heart-to-heart with your best friend over coffee, the conversation meanders from a bittersweet story of a stepmother wearing the same style bathrobe as her husband’s late wife (to the dismay of the children) to a couple’s musings of what they wore on their wedding day to a rant about loathing the need to carry a purse.
