Good Morning,
There were two segments this morning which I especially enjoyed. The first was Shirley Strawberry.
I have been a fan of the Steve Harvey Morning Show and Ms. Strawberry from the beginning. Her responses to the letters she reads daily and Mr Harvey's counter-points and viewpoints from a man's point of view are insightful and logical. I never thought I'd gain so much inter-personal relationship knowledge from a morning talk/variety/comedy show! I wish her success with her book.

The second segment I loved was the Moms on the red couch. This is a topic near and dear to my heart since I have raised two wonderful, confident and well-rounded children. One a boy and the other a girl. My children were born years apart and I marveled at their innate differences as individuals and my evolving parenting style. But I SO disagree with the Mom who advocates just letting them deal with panic attacks and making them go through their fears alone. That makes for indifferent, cold, aloof adults. Then we wonder why children have difficulty being selfLESS and secure. It starts in childhood. I'd hate to be the partner or spouse of her adult children. They are going to be anxious, insecure grown-ups.

When you put a child to bed let them cry.If they get up and run around making bedtime difficult STAND THEM IN THE CORNER FOR HALF AN HOUR.It worked with my kids.If they have energy to get up and run around when they are supposed to be in bed, a half an hour standing in an empty corner and thinking about their actions will make them tired and bedtime will get easier.DONT SPANK THEM ITS GETS YOU NO WHERE AND THATS NOT HOW A CHILD SHOULD LEARN.
