New NYC Schools Chancellor Is Dennis Walcott
Yesterday, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announced that Cathie Black would be stepping down as NYC Schools Chancellor and Dennis Walcott would be stepping in. We spoke to several people for their take on the change up, including:
• Assemblyman Hakeem Jeffries, who was the lead plaintiff in the lawsuit of parents suing the state for granting Cathie Black a waiver to become schools chancellor
• Councilman James Vacca, who sits on the Education Committee will be here live to discuss Cathie Black's resignation, the appointment of Dennis Walcott and NYC public schools.
