mom0406.jpg

In this week's "Mom's the Word," we'll talk about when it comes to putting kids to sleep...should we let them cry it out or rush to their side to comfort them? Our panel will consist of: child psychologist and author Larry Balter, Michelle Zipp of CafeMom.com's "The Stir," Ellen Meister a mother of three from Jericho, Long Island.

You know, I would really have loved to have heard Michelle get to finish a sentence. Or a thought. Or a fragment of a statement.

I also find it interesting that the child who did cry it out now has nighttime anxiety. Interesting.

What is up with the host? Sounds like she's trying to justify what SHE does rather than actually LISTENING to the psychologist. She's putting words in his mouth when he is absolutely saying to NOT "give your child skills" (ha!) by allowing them to cry alone. That doesn't teach the baby or child how to soothe themselves, it teaches them to be insecure because their needs aren't met.

By the way "They have to fit in to my schedule...We have to break them!" That is just about the WORST statement I've ever heard someone say about their own children! So sad!
