Identity Of 'Jeep Brah' Meme Revealed

jeep-brah.jpg

Imagine, over years, you become an internet celebrity and you didn't even know it?

It happened to one guy. Thousands of people have seen his face, but no one knows who he is until now.

It's virtually impossible to know when or where a picture of you is going to turn up online. As one guy found out, all it takes is one picture to achieve Internet cult stardom.

We're guessing it was about five years ago the first picture surfaced online. It's nothing special, a guy in a jeep, having a good time, but in some circles, the mischievous, fratboy charm of it quickly became legendary.

No one knew who he was, but he was affectionately dubbed "Jeep Brah." Soon photoshopped images began popping up on messageboards.

But the thing is: nobody knew his real identity.

Earlier this week came word, after years, that Jeep Brah had been located.

With some clever Internet detective work, Dave Harmon, a police dispatcher from outside Boston, tracked down the photographer, who in fact, is still friends with the guy in the Jeep.

After informing members of one particular message board where the excitement reached a fevered pitch, Harmon convinced the mysterious Jeep Brah to make his presence known.

So last night, Todd from Buffalo went online and posted a photo as a tribute to those who spent so much time in front of a computer, wondering about his existence.

By that time, the website had been viewed over a hundred thousand times and grown to 50 pages.

Todd says he's overwhelmed by the response, but he says he's just a party animal, living the dream... full tilt.
