Long Islander Jenna Rose On Viral Video, Bullying

jenna0325.jpg

Long Island girl Jenna Rose, 12, has become an internet sensation ever since her music video "My Jeans" became popular following Rebecca Black's "Friday." Now she has a new song called "O.M.G" which performed live for the first time on PIX11 Morning News. Surrounded by dancers, the 7th-grader showcased her voice and dance moves.

She also sat down with PIX11 News’ Howard Thompson and Tamsen Fadal to discuss her aspirations and the harsher side of fame. Although the teen is enjoying the opportunity to do something she really loves, she has been hurt by negative comments posted on the internet. However, Jenna is holding her head up and forging on. She even released a new video answering to those mean postings. Her new video and song “O.M.G.” addresses how she plans to live her life and pursue her dreams regardless of the hurtful words gracing the internet. Next stop for this local girl….record deal.

"OMG" I Enjoyed It. Nice Song. Nice Choreography.
Very Nice Performance, Jenna Rose and Company.

I watched this performance with people at my gym in Little Falls, NJ, and we were all appalled by it. Totally inappropriate for young teens girls to be vamping around like strippers. WPIX should be embarrassed to be presenting programming like this, regardless of the message this young 'internet star' wants to convey.

OMG WOW I watched Jenna Rose in awe, I cant believe she is only 12. She was very polished in her interview and I feel her dancing was well just very good dancing.I dont understand why people are hating on this girl, she was wearing dance clothes, in competition dance events the girls wear much more revealing clothes. I think Jenna Rose is going to be a star, she is talented and pretty and to me seems like a britney or disney star out there now. thanks you channel 11 for airing her.

wpix i'm disappointed in you for putting this up as shes a 12 year old child and by allowing this you're basically allowing pedophiles to watch her and god knows who else , you're promoting child abuse by allowing this on

well... this isn't right. Also i think it's safe to say this is NOT a song about cyber bullying.

Posted by name at April 5, 2011 3:26 PM

she is dressed up like a teenage prostitute.
congrats, that's the way to go! (Y)

is this what seventh graders wearing today??? this is crazy, kids aren't having the self respect to cover up their own dignity. And makeup...... I'm praying. O.o

Admittedly, her voice is at least decent to MAYBE hold a tune... but, she's growing up too fast to enjoy the actual stage of life she is in.

Posted by sasha at April 9, 2011 12:52 PM

this is a disgrace to music and culture. this girl is the perfect example of everything that is wrong with american culture. she may have some sort of talent but abusing it with auto tune is bad enough. then having her wear the smallest amount of clothing possible and dance inappropriately to a song that is certainly not about cyber bullying is a terrible thing to do.

good things about this mv: nice clothes, pretty make up,catchy song, sexy dancing, bad thing that cancels everything out: shes 12......

Posted by CandyCaneKitten at April 10, 2011 5:13 PM

Jenna, you are the best singer ever! That's it, your going on my favorites list! :)

Posted by candycanekitten at April 17, 2011 10:47 AM

woww.... i dont really know what to say to that... she's 12 and dancing like a stripper. What are her parents thinking?! how can they be ok with that? also, the song is most definitely not about cyber bullying.

Posted by Mute at April 22, 2011 3:58 PM

WTF She's 12~! Why the hell is she dressed like that...? Next stop.... Record Deal? More like Prostitute! Why would her parents let her dress like that? My parents don't let me dress like that, I'm only 15. WTF is wrong with her and her parents? WTF is wrong with people today? Can they not understand that girls her age shouldn't be dressed like this?

Excellent dancing and singing by a very talented young lady . It's just entertainment and she can't help it if some people have perverse thoughts and make it into something it is not meant to be.

Posted by Peter at April 27, 2011 12:40 AM

What is wrong with you people complaining about how she is dressed ? She is dressed in a dance outfit . What do you expect her to wear while dancing , a full length parka or a burka , come on get real .

Posted by Kemi at May 3, 2011 12:48 PM

im not gonna lie this song is catchy as hell and its a fun song and i really like it but aside from that she is too young to be dressing like that and doing all that. i mean i'm only 17 but damn this is too sexy for her she should wait till she's miley cyrus age because mileys young but u don't gotta worry about pedo's i'm glad she wants to follow her dream though cuz i want to be a singer and sure enough u gotta deal with all the criticism

She looks stiff and nervous, like a child playing dress up, which is exactly what she is. In the past, kids probably made cruddy videos of themselves, but they probably didn't get much further than mom and dad's VCR. Now they can humiliate themselves on the internet.

Posted by TallyToe at May 8, 2011 2:56 PM

Parents = fail. I can't believe adults are actually encouraging 12 year olds to prance around in booty shorts and singing about inappropriate manners. Even if the song isn't about inappropriate stuff, her dance certainly suggest so. That dance outfit? What, jeans and a nice shirt couldn't do for a 12 year old so they resort to the most revealing clothes?

She's not an internet star, she's an internet joke.

Holy lip-syncing Batman!
