It's Your Money: I Can Make How Much!?

With the economy starting to come around. Let's think big here. How bout some great jobs with big paychecks. We're taking a look at five in-demand jobs with high starting salaries with Dawn Fay, district president of Robert Half International. We talked about:

1. Senior business systems analyst.
Nearly 300 finance and accounting positions are listed in the 2011 Salary Guide from Robert Half, senior business analysts are expected to see the largest jump in starting salaries. Average base compensation is projected to rise 5 percent to the range of $93,765 to $120,555. Firms of all sizes look for highly skilled analysts to enhance existing systems and leverage new hardware and software.


2. Compliance officer
The Chief Compliance Officer monitors and reports results of the compliance/ethics efforts of the company and provides guidance for the Board and senior management team on matters relating to compliance. Compensation is up over 3.5% from last year for both Starting salaries for Chief compliance officer range from $210,795 - $289,755 at large firms and $143,467 - $188,587 at small companies.

3. ERP technical developer
Base compensation for these professionals -- who tailor enterprise resource planning (ERP) software -- is projected to increase 5.2 percent next year, to a range of $111,742 to $154,395. ERP enables organizations of all sizes and types to improve efficiency and cut costs. Since no two companies are alike, developers are in steady demand to customize software according to specific organizational needs.

4. Mobile applications designer/developer
A new addition to the The Creative Group 2011 Salary Guide, the mobile applications designer/developer role should command a starting salary of $103,282 to $144,525. Strong demand for these individuals is based on the growing popularity of smartphones and tablet computers; companies want to develop applications and advertising to target users of these devices.

5. User experience designer
As firms continue to seek greater revenue opportunities through digital initiatives, they require professionals with proven expertise in developing innovative and impactful online experiences for customers. Starting salaries for UX designers will have the largest increase of more than 100 creative roles listed in The Creative Group 2011 Salary Guide. Compensation is expected to rise 7.8 percent to a range of $95,175 and $138,180.
