Moms Learn How To Shoot Gun In Defense Course

gun0224.jpg

Lisa heads to Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club to talk with firearms instructor, consultant and author, Rob Pincus, and a few local moms about the rise in women taking shooting courses.

Rob is the creator of I.C.E. Training Company, a full service company offering training to armed professionals and those interested in self-defense. He has a background in military and law enforcement, and stars in the "Personal Defense" video series and "The Best Defense" on the Outdoor Channel.

Rob takes Lisa and the other women through a training course.

Great story. As a firearms instructor in Florida, I see a lot of women come through our classes who make a significant transformation from fear of firearms to being confident, competent and SAFE with a firearm. It's great to see stories like this focused on women. And, I have been a student of Rob's in his Combat Focus Shooting course. He is an awesome instructor teaching great material. I highly recommend his I.C.E. training. If you get a chance to train with Rob....DO IT!

Great to see positive gun coverage for law abiding citizens. Absolutely fantastic job eliminating the stigma of handgun usage for personal defense. Rob Pincus is the real deal which is why I.C.E. Training is "The Pinnacle of Defensive Handgun Instruction".

Excellent job Lisa Mateo! Fine Reporting! Keep up the great work. You are the main reason we watch PIX.

Nice to see a tri-state news article on firearms that isn't hit piece. That class looks like fun.

Thank you for a POSITIVE package about gun ownership.
Too often the wack jobs get most of the coverage.

Women usually make better students than men. Men tend to assume they're knowing what they're doing when they don't. Women don't have that ego to get past.

I really like this trend of women learning to shoot. As the instructor said, it's not about fear. It's about awareness and empowerment. To quote someone that I really dislike, "Power flows from the barrel of a gun."

Awesome story. Everybody should learn.
