Can I Eat That? When It's Ok To Eat Bad Food

Moldy cheese, days-old leftovers and other questionable foods are actually often fine go ahead and eat! SELF is giving us the skinny on when to dine and when to ditch in some commonly questioned scenarios. Nutrition director Carin Gorrell for SELF was here to explain more.
• Cook poultry to an internal temperature of 165 degrees
• Hard cheese is safe to eat once moldy portion is removed
• Milk should be ok up to 7 days after the sell-by date
• Make sure your fridge is at about 40 degrees
• Thawed meat will keep for up to 2 days in the fridge

proper refrigerator temperature should be around 38F. but this also depends on how much is in the fridge. if it is mostly empty the temp should be lower like to 35F to 36F. if it is a full fridge more like 40F
