Odiney Brown Recalls Daughter Shannon Tavarez's Life, Legacy

shannon0120.jpg

It is her smile that we will never forget. It is her fight to conquer the challenges before her, that we will always remember. Eleven-year-old Shannon Tavarez's fight against leukemia inspired thousands to register as a bone marrow donor.

When we asked PIX Morning News viewers to "get swabbed" for Shannon and others in need, you rose to the occasion. Now, we are asking you again to help honor Shannon's legacy on what would have been her 12th birthday.

Dr. Steve was joined by Shannon's mother Odiney Brown, who was in the studio to talk about Shannon and the efforts to honor her with a new charity named in honor of her daughter -- Shannon S.H.A.R.E.
