deblasio1208.jpg

This morning Public Advocate Bill de Blasio is releasing new data showing more than 100,000 New Yorkers went without heat or hot water last year, and pushing new legislation that would toughen penalties on landlords who don't provide heat and hot water as required by law.

De Blasio discussed new data showing which neighborhoods these 100,000+ complaints about heat and hot water came from. He also spoke about a tenant who has gone without heat and hot water this year.

De Blasio talked about the problem of tenants going without heat, and the legislation he is backing to toughen penalties on landlords who fail to provide heat and hot water.
