Haley Joel Osment Stars In New Comedy 'Montana Amazon'

Academy Award nominee Haley Joel Osment (Sixth Sense, Pay it Forward) stopped by to talk about his starring role in DG Brock's debut feature comedy Montana Amazon - The Adventures of the Dunderheads, which makes its world premiere at the Big Apple Film Festival on Saturday, November 6, 5:15pm at the Tribeca Cinemas (54 Varick St.) Osment stars alongside Academy Award-winning actress Olympia Dukakis (Moonstruck) and Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men).

The Dunderheads are the motley remains of an old Montana family who maintain a secluded existence in the Rocky Mountains, far far away from the 21st century trappings of paved roads, central heating, and formal education.

Ira (Dukakis) is the eccentric matriarch entrusted with the upbringing of her socially challenged teenage grandchildren Womple (Osment) and Ella (Brie). Both kids share a tenuous grasp on reality, choosing to live in a world of fantasy and delusion where absent fathers are big game hunters and headless dolls are your closest friends. Somehow the nearly mute Ira manages to keep her little family together until Womple accidentally kills his best friend.

Hilarity and mayhem ensue when the Dunderheads take to the open road in a dilapidated Ford Falcon hoping to elude local authorities. Ira believes Canada is their promised land but her lack of reading and navigational skills takes them on bumpy journey through the American West, ending up in Mexico.
