Zead Ramadan of NY Council of Islamic Relations Talks About WTC Mosque

Building an Islamic center and Muslim prayer room in Lower Manhattan seems to be coming together. An unanimous vote by the Landmark’s Preservation Commission rejected a proposal to grant protected status to two adjoining 19th-century buildings that a Muslim group wants to transform into a community center. Many family members who lost loved ones in the 9/11 terrorist attacks feel that the proposed mosque center will be just too close to where the World Trade Centers were. Today, Zead Ramadan of the NY Council of Islamic Relations spoke to PIX 11 Morning News about the issue.
As an American Muslim, himself, Ramadan says he is against terrorists and he does not and has never had any association with the attack on the nation. He says, “Many Americans insinuate that American Muslims should be part of a collective guilt for what happened with 9/11." He goes on to say, “I’m a proud American Muslim who defends my nation.” He feels that the argument about impeding fellow Americans from having their constitutional rights and civil liberties is something that should be considered.
When completed, the Islamic center will provide a safe and happy living area and offer Muslim children an opportunity to prosper in the nation. The Muslim community is currently educating youth about anti-terrorism. He sums up to say that in no way is the center meant to disrespect anyone who lost family in 9/11 because we were all victims of 9/11

I listened very intently to Mr.Ramadan speak of his allegiance to America, and how he was a proud Muslim American who is against terrorism. He, as an American, invoked his Constitutional right to freely practice a religion of his choice. Not once did Mr.Ramadan state that his Muslim belief will be tolerant of other non Muslims to practice their religious beliefs in his Mosque. Will his Mr.Ramadan and his Mosque welcome the infidels? The Koran orders all Muslims to kill the infidels who refuse to be converted. Does he deny the Koran, Sura 4, verse 89: Hey but wish that ye should reject faith, as they do, and thus be on the same footing as they, so take not friends from their ranks until they flee in the way of Allah. But if they turn renegades, seize them and kill them wherever ye find them, and take no friends or helpers from their ranks. American's, Don't be fooled by these people. Like all countries in the world, as the Muslim population grows, so does their evil intolerance of the non Muslim community.
