Franklyn Ajaye Talks About His Return To New York

Franklyn Ajaye stopped in to talk about his rare East coast appearance.
The legendary comedian / writer /actor returns to his New York comedy club roots with a special show at Gotham Comedy Club in Manhattan on Wednesday, August 18th as part of the 2010 New York Underground Comedy Festival.
Known as 'The Jazz Comedian' for his smooth improvisational comedic style and his musical skills as a clarinet player, Brooklyn-born Ajayea rose to fame in the 1970's, making television appearances on "The Flip Wilson Show" and "The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson.
Ajaye, who recorded five comedy CDs, worked as an actor appearing in the films "Car Wash," "Hollywood Shuffle," and received Emmy nominations for his writing on such programs as "In Living Color" and "Politically Incorrect." He recently appeared in the HBO series "Deadwood." and is also the author of "Comic Insights: The Art of Stand-Up Comedy"
