Wakeup Workout: Yoga + Boxing + MMA = Yoxing

Yoxing is a hybrid of Power Vinyasa Yoga, Boxing and Mixed Martial Arts.
The class begins with meditation and breathing, allowing the practitioner to quickly become focused and integrated into the body. The next 30 minutes focuses on power Vinyasa flow which builds strength, conditioning, balance and flexibility.
Next comes Yoxing poses, invented by Greg Bycoff, which combine Yoga poses with striking movements. These typically go for 15-20 minutes. The final few minutes are yoga stretches for cool-down.
Greg showed us the Striking Warrior, Escape From Back, High Lunges and Awkward Chair poses. For more information on yoxing, offered at New York Health and Racquet Club, visit nyhrc.com.

You've got to be kidding me, this guy knows Nothing about Boxing or MMA! Why would you compromise the form and integrity of one art "Boxing" to try to shove it into another "Yoga" for the pure selfish reason of vanity to say you created something that in turn now has No integrity at All!
What's next Piloxing? Pilates and Boxing?
Stop the maddness before its too Late!
I enjoyed your segment on Yoxing with Greg. What an interesting combination of yoga and boxing. Looks like a great workout I'd like to try.
its called Yoga Fight club from 2009.

but at least Keith Wittenstein had some skill and real training-- not like this moron.
It *looks* cool, but this sort of dumbs down the quality of the arts of yoga and boxing as two separate fitness disciplines. Yoga was designed thousands of years for its movements and spiritual experience. Boxing was developed for its fighting spirit and speed. I would only take yoxing, if I myself already know yoga and boxing (or some form of striking art), really well.
The class is really creative and fun- I go every week. I was into yoga before, and now I am totally hooked on boxing!! Greg is a great teacher, but don't take my word for it; try a class for yourself (if you are in NYC).
