Stars Of 'The Lion King' Get Swabbed To Help Find Bone Marrow Match For Young Co-Star

At just 11-years-old Shannon Tavarez was living her dream, starring in Broadway's "The Lion King." But now, the Queens native is simply fighting to live. Diagnosed with acute leukemia, Shannon is in desperate need of a bone marrow transplant.
Now the cast and crew of "The Lion King" have come together to help Shannon find a donor. Broadway stars Chaunteé Schuler and Dashaun Young stopped by to talk about Shannon and the bone marrow drive at Minskoff Theatre. The pair also performed “Can You Feel The Love Tonight?”
DKMS and "The Lion King" will be hosting a bone marrow donor drive on Friday, July 23 at the Minskoff Theatre from 10am to 3pm for donors to get swabbed and meet the cast.
