Documentary Film Asks...Just How Safe Is Your Drinking Water
Tonight HBO will air GASLAND, the Sundance award-winning documentary exposing the possible hazzards of domestic natural gas drilling. Filmmaker Josh Fox sat down with PIX Morning News anchor Tamsen and explained how this problem affects everyone.
Although the drilling is mostly done in rural areas, cities will not be immuned...afterall most metropolitan areas get drinking water from its rural neighbors. The film showcases explosive video....tap water so contaminated if you light a match to the faucet, the stream of water will catch on fire.
GASLAND is Josh Fox’s urgent, cautionary and sometimes darkly comic look at the largest domestic natural gas drilling campaign in history, which is currently sweeping the country and promising landowners a quick payoff.
The documentary debuts today on HBO at 9pm ET/PT. Other HBO playdates: June 24 (1:00 p.m., 12:30 a.m.), 26 (noon) and 30 (9:45 a.m.), and July 5 (3:30 p.m.) and 9 (4:00 p.m.). HBO2 playdates: June 23 (8:00 p.m.) and 29 (4:45 p.m.), and July 21 (2:15 p.m.) and 25 (7:45 a.m.)
